We spent most of our second day in Puerto Natales planning our hiking trip and renting gear. It just occured to me that I switched the hostels we stayed in on accident. The cheese smelling hostel with undercarpets was actually in Puerto Natales and the hostel with Luciano and Alejandro was in Punta Arenas...oh well. Well here are some pictures from the Punta Arenas hostel when we hung out with the kids...I was very happy to have some guy time playing soccer/monkey in the middle with the boys for a while...we had a lot of fun.I also found this really cool Jeep that didn't even have seats...pretty BA. In Puerto Natales we shopped around for our gear which included; Two tents, two sets of cooking equipment, five sleeping bags, five sleeping pads, and five backpacks. We got a really good deal at one location, but they were out of tents so we had to rent our tents and two backpacks from our hostel. In addition to its cheeseyness and scratchy blankets the owner was not very welcoming and did not give us any kind of deal on the rental equipment. We thought she looked like una bruja.
We were excited to leave for our trip early the next day at 7am so we got a good nights sleep and physically/mentally prepared.
